Today I have the pleasure of speaking at Berkeley College in Manhattan. I’ll be giving the college seniors some tips on how to graduate into the real world. I so love speaking to college seniors because they are so energetic and have lots of questions. I also often learn a thing or two from them.
Do you ever feel overwhelmed?
As I continue to say yes to more things, I have to learn to say no to other things. This is a hard lesson for me. I am so used to being able to say, “Yeah, I can do that.” But now my schedule is packed to the brim. With working fulltime, speaking at colleges, taking coach training classes, coaching clients, running this blog, hosting a radio show, and rewriting my first book, I have come to learn that I simply can’t do it all. I’m not the super woman I thought I was. And you know what? I don’t want to be. That is exhausting.
So, with that thought in mind, I had to decide to let something go. And, I decided it’s going to have to be the radio show, A Stellar Day with ChaChanna. I absolutely love it but it’s gotta go at least for now. So, I planned three last shows for the year to hold you over until it returns.
Are you feeling like your schedule is full?
I know I am not the only one who has felt this way, as if there is always something else that you have to do. It happens but it doesn’t have to continue to happen. Once you feel that way, find time to really look at your schedule and see what can be eliminated or postponed. And, make sure you are making time to rest, relax, and do whatever the heck you want. You can’t keep going with your foot on the accelerator. You are not a machine. Now, that I think of it, machines burn out too!
What can you eliminate in your life to make you feel less overwhelmed and take back some of your time for yourself?
